I'm using illustrator CS5 on 10.10, MB Pro Retina 2012. Not sure which Java version is installed; if I type java -version in terminal it reads
java version "1.6.0_65"

Illustrator CS5 is spotty on 10.10. It crashes fairly often, but if you save your work often enough it is usable. I upgraded to CC because of retina and the illustrator crashes; hence I only use CS5 if I need scriptographer! I only use one or two of the sample scripts, I don't do any developing myself.

Thanks so much for your feedback, sadly however it sounds less promising than Peters response, constant crashes is not what I am looking for. ;-)

sorry, i was not around for a while.

Answering your question:
You could say I had a clean install of Yosemite, as I have just bought a brand new MBP Retina 15" and it came with that preinstalled. I am not sure if Java 8 was also preinstalled, I have probably installed it, or updated from earlier version... I am really not sure about that.
I haven't used ScriptBay before, I'll check it out, but yet I have no eperience with that.
